Minutes from the January 2011
Connecticut Robotics Society Meeting:
meeting started at 1pm
11 in attendance
Mark W. demoed running one of his Mdrive motors from his PC using an improvised interface. He also showed us how to use a function generator to generate the step-clock.
Jim demoed an RS-232 to RS-422 interface to two IMS controllers. The controllers were connected in a party line arrangement and each had its own 1 character address and would only respond to a command when the command was prefaced by that address.
Next we had a talk on coupling a motor to a load.
Duncan talked about his Arduino theater stage projects. Then he demoed the motors Mark gave him discussing his unique use of MS Excel as a programming tool.
Eric talked about the plan to hold an AVR microcontroller class. The course will consist of 4 monthly consecutive 2 hr sessions held during the regular CRS meeting time. The first session will be held at the February meeting. See Jake's e-mail for instructions on how to sign-up.
Lastly, Mark W. talked about the analog voltage anomoly that's plaguing his AVR project and elicited the group for help.
-- Great job to all.
The meeting adjourned about 4:00pm.
