Minutes from the September 2010
Connecticut Robotics Society Meeting:
The
meeting started at 1pm

First we had the usual introductions by Jake.
Jake told he group about a 15% off promotion by Jameco Electronics.
Jake then showed the group web sites & videos focusing on the folllowing topics: rescue robots, shape memory metals, Lego Design challenges, Boston Dynamics walking robot, a pancake flipping robot, an inspection robot, a computer controlled helicopter, robots in hospitals, Lego balancing robot, plus others.
Jake talked about his trip to China.
Kevin gave us a demo of his hexapod robot. Kevin's company (Neuron Robotics www.neuronrobotics.com) makes tools that makes it easier for us to build robots.
Kevin then gave us a demo of his testor board.
Next we discussed what we want to do as a club this year. It was brought up that we could expand our contests to all electronics / robotics projects that our members are working on and give out gift cards out to the best.
At the November meeting Mark plans on doing a class on stepper motors.
Lastly we had a give-away.
