Minutes from the December 2010

Connecticut Robotics Society Meeting:

 

The meeting started at 1pm

13 in attendance



Jake talked about National Robotics Week.

Jake showed a could of videos. One was on a Xylaphone solinoid video and the other was on theARMAR-III robot video.

Mark W. showed off his ATMEGA32 AVR project from the course he is taking.

Eric talked about holding an AVR microcontroller class.

The January 2011 meeting will correspond with Jake's GHAMAS FIRST kick-off meeting. He would like to have club participation to help the kids brainstorm ideas.

Ed talked about the Lego Antikythera mechanism (an ancient Greek mechanical device to predict eclipses).

Duncan gave a demo of the Arduino development kit and accessories and his Excel IDE.

Next Jake gave a tutorial on the LM317T adjustable voltage regulator.

Eric talked about the MSP430 Launchpad development system.

Next Mark W gave us a great stepper motor demo.

Finally, Ed brought in a couple of boxs of electronics parts that he wanted to give-away.
