From the west (NYC via I-84, Danbury, etc.): 1. Take I-84 east to exit 48, Capitol Avenue. 2. At the end of the exit ramp, turn left at the traffic light on to Capital Avenue. 3. Go to the first traffic light & turn right (at statue of Lafayette on horse) Bear left to be on Washington St. 4. Proceed straight ahead on Washington Street (passing hospital complex on left) for 6 traffic lights. 5. At the 6th traffic light and turn right onto Vernon Street. 6. Go past the first building and turn left into the parking lot. 7. Go to the rear door of the building on the left.
From the east (Boston, etc.): 1. Take I-84 west and keep to the right once you reach Hartford and travel through a short tunnel. 2. Right after the tunnel take exit 48, Asylum Avenue. 3. At the end of the exit, turn right onto Asylum Avenue, but stay in the extreme left lane. 4. At the first traffic light, turn left onto Broad Street. 5. After two blocks, turn left onto Capital Avenue. 6. Go to the second traffic light and turn right (at statue on horse) Bear left to be on Washington Street. 7. Proceed straight ahead on Washington Street (passing hospital complex on left) for 6 traffic lights. 8. At the 6th traffic light and turn right onto Vernon Street. 9. Go past the first building and turn left into the parking lot. 10. Go to the rear door of the building on the left.
From the south (New Haven, New York, etc.): Take I-91 north to I-84 west, then follow the directions "From the east."
From the north (Springfield, Bradley Airport, etc.): Take I-91 south to I-84 west, then follow the directions "From the east."
When leaving GHAMAS: 1. To get back to both I-84 and I-91, take a right onto Vernon Street and turn left onto Washington Street. 2. When you reach the intersection with Capitol Avenue (Lafayette's horse will be on your left, the Capitol will be straight ahead), turn left onto Capital Avenue. 3. To get on I-84 West: On Capital Avenue, stay in the right lane. The entrance ramp for I-84 west is on the right at the first traffic light. 4. To get to I-84 East, I-91 North and I-91 South: On Capital Avenue, stay in the middle lane. Proceed past the I-84 west entrance and turn right onto Broad Street. As you go under the highway, you will see, on the right, the entrance ramp for I-84 east, which leads to I-91 north and south.
